This native of Queens, New York, brings a plethora of educational and life experiences to Access Tutoring LLC. As a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship in vocal music, she thrived as a student at Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she was an active member of the Southern University Concert Choir, Opera Workshop, Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity, and Music Educator's National Conference. With a Bachelor's degree in vocal music, she was employed with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System as a vocal instructor.
In 2002, Ms. Reid relocated to Minnesota and in 2005, earned a Master's of Education degree with an equivalency in Music Therapy from the University of Minnesota. As the music director at Excell Academy for Higher Learning in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, she built a music program which taught students diverse genres of music.
Ms. Reid later returned to school to advance her studies at the University of St. Thomas in Special Education. Upon completion of the program, she secured licensure in the areas of Learning Disabilities and Academic Behavior Strategies. She then obtained employment with the Minneapolis Public School System as a Resource Special Education Teacher. Ms. Reid has extensive training in many research based strategies that helped students to increase their Language Arts skills. As a Special Education Teacher, she has had the pleasure of increasing student reading and writing skills and dismissing some from special education. Ms. Reid believes that many African American students have been disproportionately labeled with learning disabilities. She is adamant that all students have the ability to learn with adequate nurturing, instruction, and motivation. Ms. Reid is a woman of faith, a mother of four adult children, and the grandmother of six. She also enjoys crafting, listening to, and singing music.
Ms. Nicole Jolicoeur holds a vastly diverse portfolio of professional and personal life experiences. For over 20 years, the Chicago native's multi-faceted career has entailed solid roles in fields including: journalism; radio/television broadcasting; public and media relations; consulting and training; education; risk management; human resources; real estate; and non-profit administration.
The Lewis University alumna has executed her unique niche of talents and skill-sets, accompanied by a distinct human touch; thus managing to consistently produce successful outcomes via communication-based initiatives.
Important to note, is Nicole's relentless passion and hope towards improving the
lives of children and families facing high-risk odds for falling victim to systemic inequities - including those all too often found in K-12 education. She firmly believes that "Through dedicated, collaborative partnerships and resources, and strong, effective advocacy, equitable learning is possible for all students." As a result, she welcomes and seeks opportunities to educate and promote the advancement of these beliefs whenever possible.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Nicole fervently embraces her strong Christian faith and values. The proud and loving mother of two sons, enjoys quality time with family and friends, and getaways to beautiful, warm and sunny oceanfront beach destinations.
Ms. Tamika Burns possesses a great love for young people and is committed to educating her students with knowledge that is far reaching and that enables them to realize their potential well into their adult lives. Ms. Burns is a native of Greenville Alabama with educational experience that spans over a course of twenty years. This includes working in both public and private schools in rural and inner city locations. She has also had the privilege of home schooling her own three children.
Ms. Burns is a graduate of Tuskegee University. She holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in the area of Language Arts. She currently works as a Language Arts teacher in the state of Alabama. She enjoys photography, reading, and spending time with family.
This Arizona native of the state of Maryland has been an educator for more than 30 years. Dr. Henderson-Cole is a National Board Certified Teacher and Arizona Master Teacher. She earned Bachelor's of Arts degree in Human Development with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development, her Master's of Education Degree with focus on Supervision and Administration, and her Doctoral Degree Educational Specialist with a focus on Educational Leadership.
Over the years Dr. Henderson-Cole has taught and trained in K-8 schools throughout the United States. She has worked in several school districts to support teachers and most importantly, the students that the educators impact. Dr. Henderson-Cole has extensive training in the implementation of effective strategies for math and reading instruction and has a proven track record of success with learners in grades k-3.
In addition to her educational achievements, Dr. Henderson-Cole is a wife, and mother of two. She loves crafting and excels in many other endeavors.
Mrs. LaShonna Drayton is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, a wife, a mother of two, and a grandmother of one.
Mrs. Drayton is a graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Arts in British Literature and a graduate of Lagrange College with a Master's in the Art of teaching with an emphasis in English Language Arts.
With more than 15 years experience, Mrs. Drayton has teaching credentials in Alabama and Georgia. While with the Alabama school district, she served as a sponsor for the National Honor Society and Spelling Bee. She also worked with students participating in beauty pageants and with graduating seniors.
Mrs. Drayton is currently a teacher of English Language Arts (ELA) in Newnan Georgia. She has earned endorsements in gifted education and currently serves as the department chair for 7th grade English Language Arts. Mrs. Drayton loves working with children and believes that there is no logic in the children being left behind. She believes that all students can achieve academic success through nurturing.
Mrs. Drayton has also volunteered as a daycare provider at Providence Baptist Church as will as serving the Missionary Society.
Ms. Felicia (Fuh-lish-shuh) Range is a native of Oklahoma and currently resides in Hopkins, MN. She majored in Criminal Justice as a paralegal and graduated with an associate degree from Tulsa Community College. Ms. Range is currently enrolled at Capella University where she is pursing a Bachelor's degree.
Ms. Range has several years experience working with struggling readers as an AmeriCorp Reading Instructor and an Educational Assistant. During her time working with readers, she received training in several research based reading strategies that she uses to increase student's Language Arts skills. Through her experiences, she has developed a devotion to increasing the reading skills of the students that she serves. In addition to teaching in public schools, she has managed after school programs and taught Sunday School. Ms. Range's goal for reading is to assist students to become more efficient in their reading and writing abilities.
The proud Southern University A&M College graduate earned a Bachelor's of Music degree with a double major in vocal and piano performance. While attending Southern University, she was a member of the University Choir, Concert Choir, and Opera Workshop. Ms. Caesar was the recipient of the DeBose Scholarship in piano performance. She is a native of New Roads, Louisiana where she attended Rosenwald High School.
After earning her Bachelor's of Music degree, she relocated to Dallas Texas where she worked in the public service industry for more than twenty years, in addition to teaching private piano.
Ms. Caesar returned to Louisiana in 2012 and has worked with the LaFourche Parish School District as an a Educational Assistant, she assists student learning in a variety of academic areas including reading, writing, and math. Ms. Caesar believes that educators have the responsibility to assure that they meet the needs of their students by using the student's background knowledge to increase their learning skills.
Ms. Caesar is the proud mother of three children. She loves animals and nature. She loves to walk and follow a healthy daily lifestyle. She enjoys cooking which she believes is a therapeutic art.
